Jeju National University Presentation & Online Persona

February 16, 2008

Rising early to meet with other JL members, we travelled to Jeju National University.

Talking for roughly forty-five minutes I spoke on my life since university graduation and extensively on the magazine production process.

The speech was well received and the seminar work afterwards took a positive course.

Unfortunately the slide show broke down halfway through, thanks to Firefox freezing up. But a restart solved the problem.

Overall, the Google Docs presentation package receives a positive review and would be used again with any future presentation.

A thank-you to Jenie Hahn and the students of JNU for having us today.

Returning to City Hall afterwards, I met with Brian Miller and attended his interview with the part owner of the Bagdad Café Indian restaurant. This interview should feature in the forthcoming issue.

I was also able put a face-to-the-blog of ‘Lost on Jeju’, briefly meeting the man behind it all in Holly’s Coffee. It was one of those moments where I wondered if the blog persona created in my mind lived up to the person in real life.

And that got me thinking about other bloggers I read every day - Paul Bradshaw, Pat Thornton and Mindy McAdams.

Would they live up to their commanding online image in real life?

You can read ‘Lost on Jeju’ here, which does contain some postings about us.

Tomorrow promises to be a busy, but thoroughly enjoyable day of layout and design. I’ll be getting to grips with our first ever two-page feature spread on Chujado.
